MGM Resorts Leans Into Solar Energy
Guided by the 'Focused on What Matters: Embracing Humanity and Protecting the Planet' philosophy, MGM Resorts commits to creating a more sustainable future, while striving to make a bigger difference in the lives of employees, guests, and in the communities where we operate.
With initiatives like the MGM Resorts Mega Solar Array, made up of over 330,000 solar panels covering 7,000 acres, it is the hospitality industry's largest, directly sourced, renewable electricity project worldwide. The Array's clean energy produces up to 90% of MGM Resorts' Las Vegas daytime power needs – helping to accelerate progress towards our goal to cut our operational carbon footprint in half by 2030. Here, bright ideas happen when your meetings are powered by the sun!
And through the Feeding Forward program, which combats food waste and food insecurity at scale, unserved and untouched food from events, warehouses and kitchens is safely donated to people in need. Since the program began in 2016, over 2.5 million meals have been rescued. Here unserved food from MGM Resorts serves our community.
